Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using Fina (the web app at fina.readmedb.com), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

What Fina is — and isn't

Fina is a tool for viewing, categorising, and asking questions about your own financial data. It shows you information about your own accounts and describes what has happened with your money.

Fina is not a financial advisor, and nothing it says is financial advice. It doesn't recommend specific investments, savings products, or predict returns. It cannot move money, make payments, or change anything in your accounts — see the Security & Data page. For advice on your specific circumstances, speak to a qualified, FCA-regulated financial adviser.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to hold a UK bank account to use Fina.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.

Connecting your accounts

When you connect a bank or Trading 212 account, you're authorising Fina to fetch read-only data from it on your behalf, as described in the Security & Data page. You can revoke this at any time from your bank's own app or online banking portal (or, for Trading 212, by deleting the API key). You're responsible for the accuracy of any API key or credential you provide, and for any permissions that key carries.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Fina for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or to evade regulatory obligations
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the service
  • Use automated means to access Fina outside of the web interface we provide
  • Share your account or connected credentials with anyone else
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, security controls, or the read-only nature of the service

AI-generated content

Fina's answers are generated by AI models reasoning over your transaction data. Like any AI system, it can occasionally misread, miscategorise, or misstate something — always check figures that matter against your bank's own records before relying on them, especially for anything with financial consequences. We work to keep categorisation and analysis accurate, but we don't guarantee it's error-free.

Service availability

Fina is provided on an "as available" basis. We don't guarantee uninterrupted access — bank connections depend on third parties (TrueLayer, your bank, Trading 212) that can themselves be temporarily unavailable or rate-limited, and we may need to take the service down for maintenance.

Fees

Fina is currently free to use. If that changes for any paid tier in the future, we'll tell you clearly before charging anything.

Termination

You can stop using Fina at any time. To delete your account and data, email [email protected] — this is currently a manual process rather than a self-serve button, and we'll act on it promptly. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, misuse the service, or if we're required to by law.

Intellectual property

The Fina name, branding, and the software itself belong to us. Your financial data belongs to you — connecting it to Fina doesn't transfer any ownership of it to us.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fina is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the service, including decisions made based on Fina's analysis or AI-generated answers. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, such as liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

No warranties

Fina is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and make a reasonable effort to notify you of material changes.
